Partnership in ministry is a well-established principle in God's Word. It comes from the Greek word "koinonia" which means "partnership, a sharer, an associate" with others in ministry. The Amplified Bible defines partnership as "sympathetic cooperation and contributions in advancing the good news." In other words, Biblical partnership provides on-going prayer and financial support for those in fulltime ministry.
Paul goes on to explain how biblical partnership allows each partner to share in the same grace that God has given the ministry they support:
"It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me."
God's grace primarily refers to His divine enablements (knowledge, wisdom, favor, gifts, anointings, endurance, etc.) that influence a person's heart regarding their personal relationship with the Lord and the work of their own ministry. Consequently, by partnering with Ascension Ministries, God extends to you a measure of the same grace (gifts and anointings) that He has given us and visa versa.
This teaming of gifts and anointings also underscores the biblical concept of "yoking together" like a team of horses. It creates a spiritual dynamic that allows us to merge and multiply the power of our prayers, our talents, and our financial resources to advance the Gospel to the nations.
As we partner together and walk in His ways, God promises to bless us in spirit, soul, and body so that we might be equipped to do His work. Therefore, we do not promise you ridiculous returns of financial prosperity in exchange for your prayers and financial support. Instead we affirm that "God's grace will be sufficient for you [and us]" as together we prepare the way of the Lord (2 Cor. 12:9).
